'From one representation to another, there is no autonomous act of signification, but a simple and endless possibility of exchange.' Michael Foucault "The Order of Things"

In this work, the artist records his hand making and remaking gestures with a pencil while his software superimposes lines of various color, shape and thickness along the path. We see that anything can be drawn between the two endpoints of the line - and further, anything can be computed between them. The combination of hand gesture and software exposes the dual nature of drawing - that each line simultaneously encodes the path of the hand and the intention of the artist. Four different gestures are repeated with a surprising variety of results.
