Clock Piece explores three aspects of time. The upper right portion of the screen is a double pendulum that swings back and forth and represents the shortest duration of change. The left hand side of the screen activates a Paul Klee diagram of pendular motion. It uses Klee's sketch as the starting condition and explores the diagrammatic possibilities of pendular motion. By building up a drawing over multiple passes of the pendulum's trace, this section represents time of intermediate duration. The lower right portion is an accumulator, an odometer-like device that saves its state to disk making the display persistent over the duration of the seventy years it takes to fill.
