Description
I describe Alter Stats as "A Self-Modifying Web Self-Visualization". The observer, by viewing the project, modified the database of statistics that was used to generate the images in the project.
The first page showed users all the information
that was generated as environment variables on the server about their visit.
The second page showed users two graphs that displayed the effect they had on the project. The top graph showed all the hits during the current day - displayed as hits per hour. The observers remote host name was identified in the graph. The bottom graph integrated the daily statistics into a 3D plot of the hits accumulated in the previous seven days.
Below is the final map showing 2.5 years of accumulated statistics.
