Well-known for his furniture and product design, such as the Oh Chair for Umbra, Rashid also exhibits unique and limited edition work that bridges the gap between art and design. In the past several years, Rashid's work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Wexner Center for the Arts, and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, among others. He received the Daimler Chrysler Design Award and the George Nelson Award in 1999, and was named the Young Designer of the Year by the Brooklyn Museum in 1998. This is Rashid's second solo exhibition at Sandra Gering Gallery.
